On 29 September 2007 six pontoons full of lake residents and their friends held the first annual Harper Lake Dinner Cruise with candlelight, white table cloths, fine china and a dish to pass.
The Harper Lake Boat Parade was held at 7:30 p.m., August 4th 2007 . (These pictures were submitted by Cheryl Lamar. If you have any additional pictures, please send them to Laurence@VanDolsen.com) There were 6 contestants, and it was a difficult decision for our volunteer judges: Steve and Becky Veneklase, Curt and Kim Walbridge and Joe and Bobbie Landis. All of the 6 floats judged were inventive, original, clever and fun. The float participants were really into the spirit of the event and were fun to watch! Water gun exchanges followed as everyone cheered and bystanders enjoyed watching from their docks. Prizes were donated by Nancy and Bob Randall, Jackie’s Place, and Joe and Bobbie Landis. Thanks to all who created the floats, and we thank you all for the hard work and thought that was put into each one. Harper Lake residents can be proud of the parade participants.
The winners:
| 1st Place | Hogwart’s of Harper Lake by Jim and Rose Hickey won a $20 gift certificate to Jackie’s Place and a Yard Game donated by the Randall’s |
